GALVESTON – A June lawsuit filed in response to a defective water supply line was recently dismissed as requested by the plaintiffs.
Court records show that on Nov. 19 Galveston County Court-at-Law No. 2 Judge Barbara Roberts issued an order in favor of local residents John and Laura Grady’s motion to dismiss Watts Water Technologies Inc., effectively shutting the five-month-old case.

As previously reported, the Gradys sued Watts last June 20 after a water leak occurred at their residence on Sept. 6, 2011.
The plaintiffs asserted a stainless steel braided water supply line reportedly designed, manufactured, distributed and sold by Watts caused the leak, stating “the product in question was defective and unsafe for its intended purposes at the time it left the control of the defendant and at the time it was sold.”
According to the suit, the incident caused damage totaling about $15,300 to the structure and property.
Watts formally denied the allegations in an original answer filed Aug. 27.
Attorney Gina Viccinelli of Hermes Sargent Bates LLP in Dallas represented the defendant.
